The Vespa that 'El Lute' stole in Leon
The Vespa that ‘El Flute’ stole in Leon to flee from the Civil Guard in 1966 is on display in the ‘60 years of Vespa in Asturias’ exhibition in Gijonés, Asturias.

Jun 18, 2014: The ‘60 years of Vespa in Asturias’ exhibition has opened in the courtyard of Antigio institute in Asturias, Spain. The exhibition which is supported by the Vespa Club Asturias will be open till July 1st. Along with scooters spanning six decades, 300 old photographs are displayed in the exhibition.

The highlight of the exhibition is the Vespa scooter which was stolen by Eleuterio Sánchez Rodríguez, known as ‘El Lute’, in León while escaping from the Coast Guard in 1966 to Salamanca. The Vespa 946 and the Vespa used by Francisco Roves and Francisco Alonso Oviedo to travel to Belgium are on display.

On Jun 21st, Vespaniada IX, will be conducted at Gijón. Over 300 scooters have already confirmed their participation in the ride.
